The national park of Windsor Ontario would be Point Pelee, which is about fifty kilometers South-East of Windsor. At first the Aboriginal people lived there, which was about 6,000 years ago then they got kicked off the land. The name "Point Pelee" came from French explorers , it means bald point because the eastern side was rocky and had no trees.
Due to the effects of Lake Erie the climate in the park is a bit warmer than the rest of Canada, so many Carolinian fauna species are located there which happens to be rare in Canada, some being the Fox Snake and the Five-lined Skink. There are about 347-360 species of migrating birds there as well. There are also four different vegetation communities in the marsh.
The unique landscapes in the park consists of the marsh, forest, fields, and beaches. Some recreational activities that you can enjoy at the park are hiking, bird watching, canoeing, picnics on the beach, as well as swimming.
